[IMPORTANT] Change in character policy

Postby evi1r0n » Wed Jan 14, 2015 10:52 pm

Dear Ozians,

Your friendly neighborhood GM here with an announcement. Starting today, we will no longer be accepting characters from other intellectual properties as player characters or NPCs in the World of Oz. This decision was not motivated by one person or group, as many people have played or inquired about playing characters from other LARPs, Neverland, Wonderland, Grimm’s Fairytales, etc.

We at world of Oz strive to create a unique experience and since we are one of the only Oz LARPs in the world we want to create a game that is very much Oz. Oz is a lush and wonderful setting and we’d like to represent that intellectual property above all else.

If you have a character concept you would like added to the game, I would encourage you to contact our fantastic character guide, Aya and she will assist you with fitting it into the World of Oz. If you are already playing a character from another IP, we encourage you to play something more Oz themed but we will not require it or pressure you to do so. No current characters will be taken away.

Understand, this is not meant as a slight, we care about all our players but as an organization we very much want to represent the Wonderful World of Oz. If you have any concerns, do not hesitate to contact me via PM.

Have a wonderful day, over the rainbow.

Two points of interest:
1. Any characters not based out of Oz or Earth can request a character re-write, if they’d like to make a more Oz-centric character. This means you’d get all your PP back from the old character to apply to a fresh Ozian, in exchange.
2. To add clarification: characters must be from Earth (roughly 1840s – 1890s) or Oz. Characters from Frontiers, the parent game of Oz, are still allowed to be brought over, since it was an Earth setting. This is the only exception because LAST Games has rights to the Frontiers IP and it was the original intention of the game to allow them in.
